All About Skincare and Makeup

Seriously...My blog has been collecting 'dust' recently...
I have absolute zero ideas on what to write...
But I never failed to keep my blog reading up-to-date...
So when I was browsing one of my favourite blog : beautyholicsanonymous...
I stumbled upon this amazing questionnaire posted on her blog...
And I decided to do the same...
*booooo!! shame on me, the copycat*

And owh, upon reading her answers, I feel soooo small...
Under-equipped to be precise...
*and thought I knew a lot..darn toodles!*

SKINCARE
Skincare
1. How many times do you wash your face daily?
Twice daily~
2. What skin type do you have?
Oily skin... I don't need highlighter to achieve that overdose oh-so-radiance effect..ahaha..haha..ok enough..and oh! I have sensitive skin
3. What is your current facial wash?
The Face Shop Arsainte Eco-Therapy Multi-care Cleansing Foam...environment-friendly.
4. Do you exfoliate?
Yerp..Or I will ended up in dullsville...
5. What brand do you use?I use The Face Shop Peeling Day White Jewel. Not really good. Can't wait to finish up this tube of mine so that I can have the excuse to buy a new one.
6. What moisturizer do you use?
The Face Shop Arsainte Eco-Therapy Crystal Water Super Gel. Testing the new launch products from The Face Shop. So far I'm quite happy with it. Environment-friendly, oil-free, cooling and non sticky.
7. Do you have freckles?
Thank God no.
8. Do you use eye cream?
Err...when I remember to actually use them???
9. Do you or did you have acne prone skin?
Occasionally. Mostly due to unsuitable products.
10. Did you ever have to use Pro-activ?
Come again?? hehe..
MAKEUP
Makeup
11. What foundation do you use?
I don't use foundation. Instead, I use The Face Shop Waterproof BB Cream. The only one that can withstand my oily skin without me looking like a wash out zombie by the end of the day. Long lasting and no zits! (thank God)
12. How about concealer?
I rarely used concealer. Or maybe because I didn't found the right one yet? All the concealers I've tried tend to have cakey effect after a few hours.
13. Do you know your undertone color?
Yellow! :P
14. What do you think of fake eyelashes?
I adore them! They make your eyes look bigger and rounder. But I only use them for special occasions.
15. Did you know that you are supposed to change your mascara every 3 months?
Ahhhh...no??
16. What brand of mascara do you use?
Shame on me. I loathed mascara. I opted for fake lashes instead. :(
17. Sephora or MAC?
Ermmm..never been to or use both. Kinda pricey to a lowly grad student like me. Maybe one day when I'm a high-power researcher. *ok perasan!*
18. What makeup tools do you use in make up application?
For BB cream, I prefer to use my magic tools.. My fingers of course! They're warm enough to make the application easier especially for a novice like me. The rest especially eye shadows, I rely on brushes instead because I'm clumsy..
19. Do you use make-up base/primer for the eyes?
Yes, I have excessive oily eyelids.
20. For the face?
Never. I think my BB cream is enough.
21. What is your favorite eyeshadow (color or shade)?
Blue. But I never managed to pull that look. :(
22. Do you use pencil or liquid eyeliner?
Definitely liquid. Again...I have oily eyelids. Any pencil eyeliner, waterproof or expensive ones, always always gave me the smudgy just-cried-from-a-sad-movie look.
23. How often do you poke your eyes with an eyeliner pencil?
Never... This one particular technique I've been practicing 5 years ago..and still learning...
24. What do you think of pigment eyeshadows?
Errr...I'm being honest here..They are not the same as the normal eyeshadows?? *innocent eyes*
25. Do you use mineral makeup?
Never. Maybe because they're quite costly. Will give them a try one day.
26. What is your favorite lipstick?
Too many to be named.
27. How about lipgloss?
I rarely used lipgloss. I like my makeup to be quite long lasting. So I stick to lipbalm, liptint and lipstick.
28. What is your favorite blush to use?
The Body Shop Shimmer Waves 01 Bronze. Gives me a healthy beach glows look.
29. Do you buy your makeup on eBay?
Never. I'm the kind of person who browse and test makeup on my hand first before I make my purchases.
30. Do you like drugstore makeup?
Yes! I do use Maybelline & Loreal... They're the gems for us students.
31. Did you ever consider taking make-up classes?
Yes but I don't have the time...
32. Are you clumsy in putting on makeup?
Yes especially applying eyeshadows. I always ended up looking like a panda or zombie. :(
33. Name a makeup crime that you hate?
Ahhh...I'm a novice myself. I'm alone might commits thousand of makeup crimes. ;p
34. Do you like colorful shades of makeup (lipstick, eyeshadow) or neutral ones?
I'll always opt for neutral shades. Nothing too radical.
35. Which celebrity always has great make up?
Korean celebrities!! I always adore their barely-there makeup.
36. If you could leave the house using just ONE make up item, what would you use?
Liquid eyeliner. I have big eyes. So why don't I accentuate them in a first place??
37. Could you ever leave the house without any makeup on?
Hardly. I'm recovering from a skin disaster last year. Going out bare-faced might give some of my friends (and me!) a shock of a lifetime or nightmares. And this lowered my confidence.
38. Do you think you look good even without any makeup on?
Sometimes. When I'm alone *perasan sorang-sorang tengok cermin*...But I'm still not confident going out nude. Ermmm..face ok..not body...
39. In your opinion, what is the BEST makeup line?
Still early conclude. But right now I'm loving Benefit cosmetics.
40. What do you think of Makeup?
Necessary without overdoing it. :)

My Best Friend Wedding: Wahida Biased~

Alas~My best friend since high school is already someone's wife..
Time does fly really fast..
We've been friend since primary school but starting to get close at the age of 16...
And the friendship blossom when we started working together at McD..
Then entered matriculation together at Kolej MARA Kulim..
One of the memorable deeds of hers is staying beside me 24/7 when I'm just recovered from chicken pox...
That time, I still have my scars...
Even though the doctor said it was safe for my friends to be near me, but people still avoided me like plague there..
And there she was, next to me,looking cool as ever..
Not afraid to be near me even though it was final exam time..
When I asked her "Tak takot ke kena jangkit?"
Her answer is "kalau dah nak kena, redha jela"
And I love her even more since that moment..
And not to mention every little details, happiness and tears we shared throughout our friendship...
There is no replacement for you Wahida...
*ok..emo la pulaaaak..*
Congratulations my dear....
May Allah bless you and husband..
Best friend forever..

Review: The Skin Food Choco Smoky Eyebrow Jam No 2

It's 2am and I'm still wide awake and hyperactive with no sign of sleepiness at all...Darn!!
So I've decided to do a review on a piece of my favorite make-up item that I've keep putting off..

This is my first time trimming my thick and unruly eyebrows... So common sense dictates that once you've trimmed your eyebrows, of course you will start using eyebrows pencil/pallet etc right??
I've tried so many items from pencil, to automatic eyebrows to pallet...
Non of them seem to stay on my brows since I have oily skin..
They will eventually fade away...
Until I stumbled upon The Skin Food eyebrow jam..
One of the new-released Chocolate range (me thinks O_o)
So here is the verdict~

Price
RM31.80 or RM31.90?? Ok I forgot..But it's within that range.. RM31++
Kinda pricey but given the elixir inside it..It was worth it..
And I took No 2, the lighter color so I won't look like a failed evil stepmother O_o

Features
1. Jam/gelatin-like texture
2. The brush is attached to the cover

No 2
Before applying eyebrow jam
After application
Thumbs Up
1. Long-lasting (yeay!).. Until night when I have to remove my make-up
2. Neaten my thick & messy eyebrows.
3. Great for novice (like me!)
4. The color is not to dark or to light.. Very natural..

Thumbs Down
1. The price (haha?)
2. A word of warning though, after application, it will harden a bit. Just imagine applying hair gel onto your hair. The exact feeling..But I don't mind a lil' bit at all..
3.Maybe not for those who have thin/very little eyebrow.

Repurchasing
No doubt I will repurchase it again. This eyebrow jam belongs in my precious make-up box where the items inside the box are A-MUST-BRING-EVERYWHERE-AND-I-DON'T-CARE-WHEN-MY-PARTNER-SHAKES-HIS-HEAD

And my recent haul at The Skin Food Mahkota Cheras..
They are always generous with the samples..
And I will try to review all items one by one..
Stay tune..

Thanks for the great service Skin Food...
And thanks to the cash source..daddy..Muah!

Books Overload~

Yes, to those who knows me very well, they will immediately know what my obsession is...
...BOOK...
I'm obsessed with reading...
Once I've started reading, don't even dream of talking to me cause I won't respond to anything..
I will just zoned out...
My best friends calling me crazy...
My parents shaking their heads *but my mom still obsessed taking care of my vast collection of books back home...She will know when my books are missing and started looking feverishly for it*
I read during my meals
*It's a bad habit I've tried to change unless I'm eating alone >__<*
I won't fold my book page...
I used bookmark instead...
Those who borrowed books from me will know the rules...
I wrapped my books...
And I never throws away any of my books since I've started collecting them at a young age of 11...
I skipped meals so that I can used my lunch money to buy books...
I asked for advanced from my dad when I found a book that I like...
Now having my own money, you can just guess the craziness I'm experiencing when I'm in a bookstore...
I'm like a little girl let loose in a candy store...
How this obsession started?
Well, since we were little, my dad WILL ALWAYS brought us to a bookstore at Gamma Penang after grocery shopping...
Then my primary school best friend is also a book addict.. :)
The rest is self-explanatory...
And now I'm running out of space to keep them ;p

I even did double storage..See??

There was a time when I'm obsessed with Gempak Starz's comics...Now I have a box full of them.. :)

Another box full with Lawak Campus series and Archie Comics

My misc reading materials and trust me..there are a lot of them in another box which I'm to lazy to open.. :)
The best part? There is a shelf full with my books back at Penang..
A tumbling hills of them here in UPM..
And I'm still looking for new reading materials...
Hope my future husband can accept my obsession.. ;p

And oh!! What I need is....

This...

My dream secret hideout.. *hanyan*

Aging Gracefully~

Hokaaay...When I wrote aging gracefully, that doesn't mean I'm an old wrinkle woman..
I'm a year older, when I look back, I've realized that I've changed a lot positively, years by years..
Well, getting a year older is not really making me go "hip-hip horay"..It does have that "oh man, I getting older" feeling..
But I'm really looking forward to build my life as I planned...
Realizing I'm getting older and older making me go back down to earth, less day-dreaming and more of making my dreams coming true..
*eleh, tetibe feeling mature la pulak*
*padahal tade topic nak tulis..pfffft!!*
To those who remember my birthday, thanks a million..I really appreciated it..
To those who even went for the troubles celebrating it, there are no words appropriate for me to express how touched I am..
Just capable of murmuring a humble thanks.

Kantoi umur?? ;p

I'm truly grateful with everything that Allah swt has given and showers me with...
Syukur Alhamdulillah..

My Favourite Masks

A few months ago, when I do a self-check on my skin conditions, I am genuinely horrified to find that my skin in serious conditions. Acne everywhere, problem eyes, littering with dark spots, very very dull and dehydrated... So armed with money *sobs!!! T_T*, I've started extensive DIY treatments on my skin..I still can't afford to do facial.. :(
So for these few months, I've started with weekly mask sheets and a sleeping mask...
So here I come with my own favorite masks after several trials on different brands...

Favorite Sheet for Oily/Acne-prone skin

TheFaceShop Herbal Therapy Clarifying Mask Sheet
I hauled a lot of them since they're on 30%+5% sale..
Retailing at RM6.90 (normal price), I find it very affordable for frequent usage. The smell is soothing and not overpowering. And you do can see the different after pulling off the sheet. Your pimples are soothed and the redness is reduced..And after frequent usage, your skin does become less oily in appearance. People doesn't believe me when I told them I have oily skin..:)

Favorite Radiance Mask Sheet

The Skin Food Snow Tea Mask Sheet
I'm hooked at the first moment I've tried it. But to make sure I'm not making rush decision, I've tried it three times..And hoooo yeah, I'm truly hooked. Retailing at RM8.90, this mask is not dripping wet with essence when we take it out from the packet. No mess at all. The smell is super nice (kinda musky tea scent, oh come on! I'm not good at describing smell). After patting the essence into your skin, there is no sticky feeling and my face does look a little lively than before. We'll see after a month. :) I just wish it's a little cheaper..Hahaha..

Favorite Hydrating Mask

Hrmmm..I'm still looking for my favorite. But at the moment, I'm using this mask sheet. My face does feel smooth to the touch and a little bit radiance. But what I dislike about this mask is the smell.. Strong ginger smell. I'm nearly choking but for the sake of my dehydrated face, I'm holding on *life and death situation..hahaha..ok gedik*

TheFaceShop Herbal Therapy Healthy Mask Sheet
And I'm yet to try this but currently the mask is out of stick at my favorite TheFaceShop outlet.

Favorite Sleeping Mask

TheFaceShop Raspberry Roots Sleeping  Mask
The beauty consultant once told me it is a best-seller both here and in Korea. And after using it, I believe her! The smell is sooo good and the texture is gel-typed and absorbed easily into my skin without sticky feeling..Next morning after rinsed with warm-water, my skin feel soooo smooth that I become self-obsess with touching my skin. Haha..Months after, my congested pores are significantly reduced in number and my skin become much more smoother, As for the lifting/firming part, I don't actually feel it. Maybe because I'm still young?? *perasaaan*
Even though pricey, it's highly recommended.. :)

Moi~
Moi sans make-up.. T_T
My complexion after 2 months of mask sheets. The dark spots and occasional pimples are still there..But my skin is smoother, and I can actually see *and experiencing/believing* the radiance especially on my upper cheeks. And the dark circles have permanently become a citizen there..Hurrrmphh!
How about yours??
